Genelle Levy is an international Canadian journalist who covers social justice, politics and marginalized communities. Her work has appeared in BBC News, The Guardian, CBC News and Maclean's amongst other places. In 2025 she covered the development of Prime Minister Mark Carney's One Canadian Economy Act and its impact on Canadian Indigenous and First Nations people. In 2024 she covered the Canadian wildfires for The Guardian and previously her work focused on healthcare inequities in LGBTQ+ communities and efforts to diversify school curriculums in Ontario. Genelle is also a professor of journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University and Humber Polytechnic.
